Hey, there. I have been working on a ton of things with my latest work-in-progress, but my turn came and I got hit by the latest Covid strain. Thought I was fighting allergies because this is a bad time of year for me. Never have been tested to see what I’m allergic to, but I get hit every year.
This year my anti-allergens weren’t kicking it and I ended up at the doc with a bad cough and low and behold. I didn’t have the usual Covid symptoms other than the cough and fatigue.
However I am getting back to normal, which means I’m a couple of weeks behind where I intended to be with my marketing and background material, but eh, what are you going to do?
And that’s another key to writing. Sometimes your day to day will get in the way. And you have to make allowances for that. While you are a writer, you’re also living in the world and you have to find a way to mesh both together.
Don’t get me wrong, writing is my most favorite thing in the entire world, but you cannot do anything 24/7 and breaks are needed. So, go with the flow, let life get in the way from time to time, but keep notebooks, tablets and laptops handy to at least keep notes if you can’t actually get the time to do what you need to.
Writing is bliss, but life is important too, and sometimes the universe just slows you down–forcing you into breaks to recuperate or relax or rest.
It’s okay. Trust me.
