Hi all,
Been busy but things are happening. I got a story published called Zombunny through Graveside Press this month. The cool part is that while it was for an anthology, because of its length, Graveside made it it’s own mini-book:
I’m ecstatic. The cover wowed me and the editors helped me clean and polish the story, which I’m ever grateful for.
I don’t know how most other authors feel, but I genuinely love it when editors dig into my stories before publishing and offer guidance and suggestions. I’ve said this before but most editors really are wanting to make the story the best it can be.
As a writer, I can lay down words, but I’m not great at seeing my stories objectively enough to affect my own edits. I’ve edited some of my stories close to a dozen times and I’ll still go back in and catch something I didn’t see the previous nine times. I think you are literally too close to your own words to edit them properly.
Trust editors and really try to “see” why they want to change things. Most times they’re right.
I have other good news. Project Threshold #2 is releasing in March. I don’t have a bonafide release date yet, but beginning next month Berger’s stories #2 is releasing followed by Riker’s stories and then Talise’s. I’m mixing up the order from last time but it will make sense. Then it will lead into another finale.
I do like the format and the smaller books. They feel like novellas with 5-6 stories tucked inside each.
AND–the first Project Threshold is being released as a complete audio book near the end of March. All of the tracks have been recorded and after a couple of listens, they’ll be assembled and released too. More to come on that, but I love the idea of these being audio books.
So March is going to be busy too. It’s a good thing for an author.
Alright, get back to whatever you’re doing. I’ll update my publication page soon–I’ve been shameful on it and my list of publications has grown. Time is always a wicked thing…
