This novella is a departure from my usual creepy stories, but occasionally I get a quirky streak in me and go outside my usual genres. You should try it. Maybe humor’s not your thing, but there are lots of different genres to write in, so pick something else to write about than your norm. Maybe it’ll be something near to your fav or something further afield, but take a break from your usual and see what other creative sparks are in there.
It helps. Trust me. Breaking outside your normal genres might help you find new life in your original tracks. It’s like driving home a different way after work. You see new streets, different cars and people and different flows to the traffic. It helps you look at things in new ways.
As for me, I’m going to run with Dave for a while and see where the road takes me. He’s a little crazy and definitely off kilter, but what can I say, I like the guy.
I’ll keep you updated as I see how the rest of the world reacts to Dave and his diatribe . . .
